시편의 말씀을 보면, 하나님께서 창조하신 모든 것들이 하나님을 경배하고 찬양한다고 말합니다. 또한 홍수 이후 하나님께서 노아와 그의 가족과 맺으신 언약은 인간뿐 아니라 모든 피조물을 포함하고 있습니다. 이는 하나님께서 자신이 창조하신 모든 것을 얼마나 사랑하시고 귀히 여기시는지를 보여줍니다. 이처럼 이 세상의 모든 생명체는 하나님의 피조물입니다. 하나님께서는 그 피조물들이 잘 다스려지고 번성하도록 하기 위해 하나님의 형상대로 인간을 세우셨습니다.
그러나 인간은 하나님보다 작은 ‘신’이 아닙니다. 우리 역시 하나님의 피조물 중 하나임을 기억해야 합니다. 이 사실을 깨달을 때, 우리는 하나님의 창조 세계 안에 속한 공동체의 일원임을 알게 됩니다. 우리는 단순히 보호해야 할 ‘환경’을 바깥에서 관리하는 존재가 아니라, 하나님의 창조 속 생태계 안에서 함께 살아가는 존재입니다. 하나님께서 주신 이 아름다운 자연을 함께 돌보고 가꾸어 가는 사람들입니다.
하나님의 창조 세계는 단순한 배경이나 환경이 아니라, 하나님께서 생명을 주시고 돌보시는 살아있는 공동체입니다. 우리는 자연을 통해 하나님을 더 깊이 알아가고, 그분의 선하심과 아름다움을 발견하며 찬양하게 됩니다. 그렇기에 자연을 나와 분리된 대상으로 바라보는 것이 아니라, 하나님의 창조 공동체 안에 속한 한 존재로서 살아가야 합니다. 하나님의 형상으로 지음 받은 자녀로서, 우리에게 맡겨진 이 아름다운 세상을 소중히 여기고 돌보며 살아가는 삶이 되기를 소망합니다.
In the Psalms, we see that all of God’s creation praises and worships Him. God’s covenant with Noah after the flood includes not just humanity, but all creatures. This reveals how deeply God loves and values everything He has created. All life on earth is God’s creation. God established humans in His image to ensure that all creatures are well-governed and flourish.
However, we humans are not little gods. We too are part of God’s creation. When we recognize this truth, we understand that we are members of a community within God’s creation. We are not external managers of the “environment” that needs protection; rather, we are beings living together within God’s created ecosystem. We are people who together care for and cultivate this beautiful nature given to us by God.
God’s creation is not merely a backdrop or environment, but a living community to which God gives life and care. Through nature, we come to know God more deeply, discover His goodness and beauty, and offer praise. Therefore, we must not view nature as separate from ourselves, but live as one being within God’s community of creation. As children created in God’s image, we hope to live lives that treasure and care for this beautiful world entrusted to us.

우리는 ‘환경’을 멀리 있는 문제가 아니라, 내가 속한 하나님의 창조 공동체로 바라보아야 합니다. 우리가 무심코 지나치는 작은 쓰레기 하나도 생각보다 더 큰 문제로 이어질 수 있지만, 우리의 작은 실천 또한 변화를 만들어낼 수 있습니다. 예를 들어, 한 사람이 하루에 하나의 쓰레기를 줍는다면, 100명이 함께할 때 일주일에 700개의 쓰레기를 줄일 수 있습니다.
